Innovation indicators are metrics used to evaluate a country’s ability to foster, support, and sustain innovation. They offer insights into the various dimensions of a nation’s innovation ecosystem and help benchmark its performance globally. This report examines several international innovation indicators and analyzes Kuwait’s most recent performance across these measures. It focuses on key global indices, including the Global Innovation Index (GII) and the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI). In addition, the report reviews a set of innovation indicators related to both major innovation inputs and outputs (see the figure below). Each section provides an overview of Kuwait’s ranking and performance, supported by the latest available data. Finally, the report outlines potential areas for enhancing Kuwait’s standing across the different innovation indicators.
